Watch out for MEA 2.0!
In 2010 the Media Education Association plans to re-launch itself as a FREE online community. We will create a new website that will enable you to become a member simply by registering. You will have access to all that MEA currently offers, including an expanded online version of our magazine PoV, but you will also be able to network with colleagues in the media education sector and to use the site’s ‘social bookmarking’ functions in order to find the best resources, ideas and research, and to contribute your own evaluations. If you want to, you can also post your own materials – writing, classroom resources, video –for evaluation by others.
If you are already a member of MEA, we will be getting in touch with you soon to tell you more about these changes. If you are not a member, don’t join now: e-mail us at info@mediaedassociation.org.uk and let us know that you want to be kept informed.
The other big development for MEA in 2010 is the first of our new annual conferences. We are organising The Media Literacy Conference jointly with the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media (www.cscym.zerolab.info) with the support of Ofcom. It will be on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th November, in London. Make a note of the dates now!
